Comrat Wine Festival 2019 - Gagauz Şarap Yortusu

Like every year, Comrat celebrated one of its most eagerly awaited festivals: the wine festival! Or as they call it in the Gagauz language, "Gagauz Şarap Yortusu"!


The party took place in the central square, where several booths representing different villages of Gagauzia, such as Kirsova, Cismikoi, Kazaklia... In them, different locals wore regional costumes and danced and sang to the rhythm of traditional music.


The attendees, coming not only from Gagauzia, but from all over Moldova and even from neighbouring countries, had the opportunity to taste the exquisite Gagauz wine and different traditional dishes of the area.


In addition, there were different pottery and handicrafts master classes for children and adults. And some traditional handicrafts could also be purchased at the folk craftsmen's market located next to the Cathedral.

Miras-Moldova also supports families of disabled youth from surrounding communities. Volunteers from the public administration work with individuals with a range of disabilities including physical, sensory, mental and learning disabilities.
