Cultural fair - "United in diversity!"

“Miras-Moldova» and EVS volunteers in 16 of October organized in Gagauzia cultural fair - "United in diversity!" The purpose of this event was to show the rich and diverse cultural heritage of peoples and minorities inhabiting in Gagauzia.

During the fair was held culinary competition, which was presented traditional dishes of ethnic minorities in Gagauzia and them folk music. The culinary competition has been rated by three categories: Audience Award, Grand Prix and the Prize - a Jury.

Also in the exhibition participated people involved in folk art-non professionals, but they want to express themselves and share their work. People from Bulgarian, Russian, Polish, Belarusian communities came to support the organizers of Cultural Fair. In this Fair took part kids from rehabilitation center “Fidanjik”-they presented them work from beads and others. Together with kids work their mastery showed old people from Comrat “Club for elderly people”. The culinary competition was held in three categories: Audience Award, Grand Prix and the prize - a jury.

Nowadays in Republic of Moldova live representatives of several ethnic groups. Among them there are 64,5% of Moldavians, 13,8% of Ukrainians, 13% of Russians and other ethnic groups (Gagauzes, Bulgarians, Jews, Belorussians, Germans and others).

Miras-Moldova works to raise awareness of the Gagauzian culture, encourage social integration of ethnic minorities into Moldovan society and to save the cultural heritage of the Moldovan population.


Miras-Moldova also supports families of disabled youth from surrounding communities. Volunteers from the public administration work with individuals with a range of disabilities including physical, sensory, mental and learning disabilities.
