Minibus inauguration for Kirsovo Center

The rehabilitation center for children with special needs "Luch", Kirsovo got its own transport.

Thanks to the initiative of European volunteers working for the Miras-Moldova organization and for the Luch Rehabilitation Center with children and adolescents with disabilities, financial assistance from the Rotary Club Chisinau Cosmopolitan, as well as support from the Kirsovo Mayor's Office, a minibus, which the center has been lacking for all these years was received and which will greatly simplify access to the modern center, where people with disabilities will receive highly qualified help and support.

Cooperation of Miras-Moldova with the rehabilitation center began in 2012. During this time, the lack of a vehicle remained the biggest problem. Children sometimes had to be transported on foot in wheelchairs for 2-3 km. In winter, children and young people with special needs found themselves in complete isolation.

The main sponsor of the project was “Rotary Club Chisinau Cosmopolitan", with whom “Miras Moldova” has been cooperating for about a year and thanks to which a number of charity projects in the territory of Gagauzia over the past year was implemented. This is the organization of a holiday for children with disabilities in Comrat, the purchase of expensive exercise bikes for children with cerebral palsy in the rehabilitation center "Fidanjik" in Comrat, humanitarian aid was brought from Austria to the center "Luch", Kirsovo village and the last project is the purchase of a minibus for the center. Volunteers from Europe also raised funds on a crowdfunding platform to help implement this project. It is needed to note the cooperation and assistance of the Kirsovo City Hall and namely of Mayor Sergei Dmitrievich Sapunzhi and Director of the Kirsovo rehabilitation center "Luch" -Ekaterina Filippovna.

Now, what seemed unattainable a year ago is already real! We are waiting for new initiatives and joint projects!

Miras-Moldova works to raise awareness of the Gagauzian culture, encourage social integration of ethnic minorities into Moldovan society and to save the cultural heritage of the Moldovan population.

Miras-Moldova also supports families of disabled youth from surrounding communities. Volunteers from the public administration work with individuals with a range of disabilities including physical, sensory, mental and learning disabilities.
