The Baptism of Christ

The Baptism of Christ is one of the Great Feasts of the liturgical year in the Christian religion. The day commemorates the Baptism of Jesus Christ in the holy waters of the Jordan River at the hands of St John the Baptist. The Baptism Day, on 20th January, and on the evening preceding it, in the churches conduct the ceremony of the Great Blessing of the Waters. For this reason, the Episcope come in Comrat for to bless the water and celebrate the Holy Mass. Orthodox believes carry consecrated water home, store it carefully, and drink it bit-by-bit for bodily and spiritual health. These water is used to consecrate homes, to call down the blessings of God.
